Psychotic Disorder not Otherwise Specified

This is the usual category for patients who do not fulfill the criteria for any of the other psychotic diagnoses, but whose behavior exhibits psychotic features. There may be too little information about the features (for example, hallucinations, disorganized behavior) to be certain about their existence or significance. Or the picture may be mixed, so that there is no certainty that enough psychotic features are present, or that they have endured long enough to meet the conditions for diagnosis. It can also be the case that some psychotic condition is presented, but whether it is primary, secondary to a medical condition, or substance-induced cannot be determined at the time of diagnosis.
